Obituary for Kayce Lopez

Kayce Lopez
Kayce (Jones) Lopez passed away surrounded by loved ones on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born on September 15, 1977 in Pontiac, Michigan, the middle daughter of Susan Kay (John) McAtee and David Jones. Kayce moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1989.

Kayce graduated from North Canyon High School and later from the University of Phoenix with a bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration. Kayce worked in the health care industry for most of her adult life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, riding her Harley and collecting Day of the Dead memorabilia.

Because she enjoyed helping people, and in spite of her own lengthy illness, it wasn't unusual for Kayce to buy a hot meal for a homeless person or a cup of coffee for a friend in need of a compassionate ear. Kayce loved everyone she met and was loved equally by those that knew her.

Kayce is survived by her two loving children, Victoria Rose Lopez (Michelo Hernandez) and Anthony John-Garcia Lopez, a grandson, Giovanni Thomas Hernandez, her loving mother and step-father, Sue (John) McAtee, sisters, Tammy (John Berlin) Lalor and Melissa (Chris) Shipley, brothers, Richard, Timothy and Denver (Teri) Jones, her grandmother, Neva Carr, father, David, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jason Lopez, and other family members including her grandfather, Arnold Carr and grandparents, Denver and Dorothy Jones and John and Opal McAtee.

A celebration of Kayce's life will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1pm at Radiant Church in Surprise, Arizona, While our hearts break as one, we find comfort knowing that our Lord will reunite us again.
