Hugh Earl Mock
Hugh Earl Mock died peacefully at Banner Baywood Hospital on Monday, February 12th, 2018 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 75 surrounded by family.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Vernice (Schultzie) Mock; children, Jeffry (Joann) Mock, Christopher Mock, Gregory (Emily) Mock and Lori (Dalin) Webb; beloved "Uncle" Howard Emery; siblings, Anna Margaret Helton and Barbara (Charles) Miller; 16 grandchildren, 4.5 great grandchildren,numerous nieces & nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Margaret Mock; Sister, Ethel Mock; Son, Bruce Mock and Daughter, Stephanie Mock.
Hugh was born on November 27th, 1942 in Wilmington, California to Loren and Margaret Mock . He graduated from Ponca City High School. Hugh served in The United States Air Force from 1961 - 1965 in communications. He married Vernice (Schultzie) Mock on December 12, 1981. After moving to Arizona, Hugh began working for US West in several different positions and retired in 1998.
Hugh was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Hugh served in many different callings but is especially remembered as a wonderful leader working with the youth. He played an intrical part in teaching people about the gospel and changing lives for the better. Hugh cherished the time spent with his sweet wife. Because of their strong love for each other they both fought hard to keep Hugh here on earth longer. Hugh enjoyed dirt bike riding with his sons and friend Stan. Hugh enjoyed watching boxing with his friends. He will be missed by many.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday February 20th from 11:00am - 12:00pm at Regency Mortuary located at 9850 W Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City AZ. Followed by the burial at 1:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 15018 N 39th Ave., Phoenix, AZ
