Doris Dillard Copeland was born in 1929 in Laddonia, MO to Florence and Homer Dillard. She passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018 in Surprise, AZ. Doris grew up in Laddonia, MO and attended Mexico High School.

She married Howard R. Copeland in Mexico, MO in 1949. They had a son Bruce and daughter Julia. Over the years she and Howard lived in San Francisco, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Morris Plains, NJ, Mexico, MO, Mississauga, Ontario, and Chesterfield, MO. They retired in Sun City West, AZ.

While in Chesterfield, MO, Doris was a real estate agent. In Mexico, MO she served on the Mexico School Board. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, MO and Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, AZ. She was part of Stephen Ministry through Desert Palms Church. Doris was an avid bridge player, and liked to entertain.

She is survived by her daughter Julia and family, son Bruce and family, and sister Opal Rohr. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday May 6 at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, AZ. Donations can be made to Desert Palms Presbyterian Church or to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve ‘Toys for Tots’ program.
