Condolence From: Daughter
Condolence: Alright you bum. I wish you would have prepared me that you were going to tell your cancer to "suck my banana".
If I could only be half the man that you were, dad. Well, I guess that wouldn't be such a good idea, that would make me a hermaphrodite. I can see you choking on your coffee now dad because I know you'd get a kick out of this because this is soooo YOU!!
Awh dad, to laugh together again. I know you wouldn't want me doing all this crying. It's tough tho dad, it's real tough.
Now, let's get serious. I want to talk about the dash. (-). That dash is what's between your birthdate - death date.
We both know your alive and well in heaven with mom. I do have great peace and I can say this honestly because you called me with joy in your voice and said, Leanne, ( not your usual, "hey what's happenin".)I remember feeling scared; thinking what's he about to say.... YOU CONFESSED YOU HAD SAID A SINNERS PRAYER AND ASKED JESUS TO COME LIVE IN YOUR HEART FOREVER! I can see where I was standing when you told me and we cried happy tears and thanked God for his mercy and for his only begotten son, JESUS!
From this day forward, no matter what happened in life; I knew you'd spend eternity with mom and grandma and grandpa. When God calls me, dad, we will all be together again in the promised land.
I know I know dad , stop "flappin" and get on with it. I've got a busy life here you know.
THE DASH..... you lived your dash to the fullest. You were a very hard worker; dam good provider. One heck of a loyal son and father and friend. You did teach us kids so many good things. You definitely were not a lazy man. You never even used a Calculator.
You would take your paper and pencil and write it all out. Multiplying and dividing. Showing us what would cost what and in my older years, (yikes, I can say that now) there was one last time you and I got to go over that "long math". (Hehe, I was using a calculator). Hey now, had to make sure my old man still had it and dad, as you sat at your table, feeling like crap you said " jump on the deal, it's too good to pass up". You actually loved helping your children in this way. Your math was right on dad, as it always was. You big dodge lover you. She sits in my garage and I now find myself opening the door for no reason other than to look at it with a smile, MY DAD helped pick you out. :). It makes me feel we at least got to do one last thing here on earth before you decided to go home. LOL. Ok , ok dad I hear ya.... flap flap flap. I ain't got all day Leanne, get on with it.
I'm proud to call you , MY DAD! HONORED to be your daughter. You did so much good while here on earth dad. I can just imagine your job duties in heaven. I know Gods got you busy because He knows you and knows you would never have it any other way. I want you to be know something real important dad. Remember how we said together "Ima kick cancers butt..... DAD, YOU DID KICK CANCERS Butt!!!!YOU WON DAD. YOU DID IT!!! (It wouldn't let me say the A word. It thinks I'm in heaven. Lol. That's a good thing to not curse anyways ).
You told that cancer you weren't about to "sit around here " and put up with "his bullcrap". Enough was enough!
I'm Jerry Pierce and I call the "shots". (Clapping clapping clapping).
ARE YOU KIDDING ME DAD. YOUR A FREAKING HERO!!!!
Leave it to my dad, to walk around with an aggressive stage 4 cancer. Driving yourself to your appointments and the grocery store. Buying your daughter her last birthday card. Going about your business, walking out into the sunshine. Who does that dad? JERRY PIERCE, the man who was never a coward, a "sissy " as you would say dad. I BRAG ON YOU TO EVERYONE DAD OVER THIS. CANCER DID NOT WIN DAD!
YOU chose the 14th to go to your permanent home. That number was in your head because of mom. YOU called the last shot dad!!! IM SOOO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF YOU AND ADMIRE YOUR COURAGE AND YOUR STRENGTH!!
THANK YOU DAD FOR ALWAYS LOVING ME, Wade and Danny. Through toughest times we still had your love and I know your prayers. You told me you always prayed. THANK YOU DAD. I'll try my hardest to keep my chin up. As you would say tho, "Leanne , pick yourself up. Life doesn't stop". I know your happy and know a peace and joy that people can only know once they get to heaven. I LOVE YOU DAD!!!! I'll rev her up and clean out the pipes every so often thinking of you dad and your love of a dodge truck. LOL. MY HEART Will never be the same until I'm in yours and moms arms again.
IN THE PROMISED LAND. I'll love my brothers extra dearly from now on. They'll be so sick of me. LOL You live in each of us as does mom and as long as we are here on earth, we will keep your memories and stories alive and build more of our own memories to bring to heaven with us; when we are called. Hug mom for us and try not to have too much fun without us. Oh yea, dad, don't forget your in heaven now. LOL. NO cursing allowed. :) Love forever, your lu lu Bell. Leanne.

Condolence From: Chris
Condolence: I loved how tall you are just like my dad. He was deployed and when you came to Texas my eyes just lit up. You were so much fun grandpa Jerry, just like hanging out with an older brother. I hope this is okay to say but when you farted in church i laughed so hard and to this day i still talk about it with my friends, especially when they fart in bible school, it really brings back good memories of you and all the fun we had. I will never forget our popcorn war in the movie theatre. We saw Shrek and you reminded me of him only you were not green. You were the only one who could ever pick on my mom and get away with it. We all thought you were so funny and nice and kind of scary sometimes but we loved hanging out with you everywhere we went and when we played ball in the front yard you made us dodge, lol, man you can hit hard. it was so much fun. thank you. I wish we had more time to go to the lake and check them girls back out and thanks to you i still fish. You were a great teacher.. love Chris

Condolence: Hi grandpa Jerry.. I had so much fun with you when you came to visit in Texas and we went to the swimming pools and the lake. You were so funny and i want to say thank you for taking us to eat at Applebees. You were so funny when you taught me how to throw that bowling ball and together we made a strike! I am happy you are with God now and no longer suffering in any pain. I will see you again when God calls me home and hey, maybe there is bowling in Heaven and together we can make another strike. Love Matthew

Condolence: To a wonderful man who was so tall who was a gentle giant over me.
your teasing me about my height never bothered me, boy we sure had some good laughs over it. ill always cherish the fun we had in Texas, the places we had the most fun in, we were asked to leave. LMBO! To this day i share those stories with friends and loved ones of mine. You had become an adopted dad to me, long before God called you home. I have remembered many of our long talks and knowing you the way i did Jerry, you were not about to sit around and let cancer call the shots. i am happy to call you my dad and my brother in christ. You will be greatly missed, especially your boldness and your love of life! I know you are at peace and loving your eternal home. Save a spot for me old man! Our good times are not yet over. As long as we are on this earth, sis and I will carry your love and memories until we meet again. your shortcake, Allison
